Fraser Group was founded in 1989 by Ken Fraser, currently President of the firm.
In his earlier career, Ken was a group insurance underwriter and director of marketing working in Canadian and U.S. markets.
In the early 1990’s, Fraser Group created the annual market share and unit cost benchmarking studies which form a major part of our current product line.
In 2001, Fraser Group launched the first of several claim experience studies on mortality, disability and catastrophic drug expenses in the employee benefit sector. The LTD Claims Data Bank is now a permanent research program providing unique actuarial analyses to the Canadian insurance industry.
In 2018, Fraser Group assumed management of the QSM benchmarking program serving major public sector pension plans in Canada, including the federal and Quebec governments. These client plans cover over 3 million pension plan members.
Ken Fraser is the President of Fraser Group. Ken has worked as an independent consultant since 1984 serving clients in insurance and financial services as well as governments and non-profit organizations. He has designed a wide variety of market research initiatives as well as advising on marketing strategy, pricing, and expense management.
Early in his career, Ken worked as an underwriter and market manager for a Canadian insurer.
Ken is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute and has completed the Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC). He is a frequent contributor to industry conferences and publications.
Daniela Mathura is Director, Research Services at Fraser Group and manages several annual studies on market share, profitability and unit costs.
She has been with the organization for over 20 years and has earned the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) and PPAC (Pension Plan Administration Certificate) designations in addition to her MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Heidy Zunn is Director, Research Services at Fraser Group. She received her master’s degree from McGill University and has earned the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation.
Kenari Ong is Research Analyst at Fraser Group. She holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo.
